Q: I have a SATA/300 3.5 Intnal Hard Drive 500 gigabytes MaXtor Is it dangerous to run one like that. I know there supposed to get a little warm. But this one gets hot. But works well. Is too hard on the motherboard to pull it.
A: Sure, it will be rather warm. You don't say what you mean by 'hot'. Hot has a different meaning for electronics. Core2duo processors, for example, run around 30C, and are getting hot at around 50C for most people. Your hard disk shouldn't go over 70 Celcius. If you are unhappy, then you could look at ways to put a fan inside your computer just to help keep the disk cool. You can also move the disk, and mount it further away from the motherboard - though I doubt that this will help. Fans are a good idea.
