Q: I resurrected a dead hard drive. Most files transfer off perfectly but the occasional file freezes windows (bad data). Is there a way around this, perhaps something similar to windows explorer? I just want some of the files, I don't care to use recovery software :) Edit: I ended up using the Ubuntu Live CD to pull the data off the drive.
A: If the drive is faulty, or for any other reason has badly corrupted files this will always happen. There is nothing you can do about it.
