Q: When using a briefcase on my USB flash drive I can no longer hit the update files button and update the files in the briefcase like I used to be able to do. Should I format the Flash drive to fix this? I don't know much about formatting disks. The reason why I ask is because usually when I used to format floppy disks thinking it could only do good the floppy disk no longer worked.
A: Absolutely. Make sure there are no files you need on it. Plug it in, go to My Computer, right-click on the flash drive icon, then click format...not quick format. This should fix your trouble so long as the drive isn't physically damaged.
