is there really a difference between an intel processor and an AMD?

Q: if so, how and why? wow. thank you for that useful information. im well aware that intel is the "name brand" product of processors. just because something is CONSIDERED better doesnt mean it necessarily is. i am wanting to know if someone has any facts concerning the two brands tony, do you speak english? what is scoocer?

A: The most significant difference between the two has historically been the method in which they handle memory addressing and instruction sets (commands). There has been a lot of back and forth as to the performance leader. Recently, AMD has fallen behind for several generations. Intel has been delivering the best performance at pricing that has been extremely competitive with AMD and AMD has been suffering, especially when performance is a priority, as in corporate datacenters.
