A: If you want to erase it completely...here is a good trick. Take it out and put a speaker magnet over it. Needs to be a good size speaker. You can use a car stereo speaker too. That will rearrange all of the magnetic information on the platters rendering the disk non readable. You will have to reformat the drive to get it working.
