can my computer run games on my 65inch hd tv?

Q: IM worried that it would burn out my video card or power supply, im a novice at best with computers, also would it be able to run at 1080p resolution? will it look good? im looking to run modern pc games online.

A: 1080P is just another term for 1920x1080. By games I assume you mean something 3D intensive. If your graphics card is capable of it, it will... Tell us the model of your graphics card and we can tell you if it will. Video cards are specifically designed so that they don't burn out at maximum load. In fact, they should never burn out even if they're under maximum load for a few days. If they do burn up, then it was a bad card with a bad heat dissipation system. The only result of loading the graphics card too much with a game is low frame rate. Power supplies may burn out, but if you've already gamed with the PSU, it'll be fine. If your computer randomly shuts down while gaming, then it might be the PSU. If you upgrade your graphics card to something like an HD4870X2, then you probably need to upgrade the PSU too... The important thing to look for on the PSU is the 12V rail amp ratings. If it's greater than 30A combined, you're fine, 40A if you are going use SLI/crossfire. If it's under 20A, you might need to check before upgrading the card. Of course, all of that is dependent on the computer and the PSU. A cheap thermaltake 430W with a 12V rated at 18A actually delivers up to 16A at a constant pull... which is enough to run an Opteron 170, 7900GS, lots of fans and drives, and 2gb ram. A corsair vx450 (450W) with a 12V rated at 33A will actually sustain loads in excess of its rating, because it's that good. If you have no problems right now, DON'T DO ANYTHING WITH YOUR PSU. Well to answer your original question, you're probably fine if you were able to game on a normal monitor at resolutions comparable to 1920x1080. If you were doing it at something slightly lower, expect a frame rate drop proportional to the increase in resolution. Bar all that, 720P is 1280x720 resolution, which is acceptable, but lower. If you were able to game on a resolution comparable to that (very likely if you played games at all), you'll be able to play games on that TV at 720P for certain.
