A: depends on which type of laptop you have. if you have a windows laptop you can run a program called memtest86. its free and it works good. http://www.memtest86.com/ download that and put it on a disc. and boot from it. Directions: Start Nero Startmart, select CD in the combe box at the top, select the fifth button (copy and save), select burn image on disk(first row, second column), select the iso extracted from the memtest archive and burn. If you do not want to spoil disks use a CD-RW instead. download nero-smartstart: http://www.brothersoft.com/downloads/nero-start-smart.html for a mac laptop all you have to do is insert your os x install disk and hold down "D" key before it boots up and it will go into the memory testing for you.
