What is the normal temperature for dual core processor ?

Q: My CPU: Dual Core Intel Pentium D925, 3000 MHz 2x2 MB Cache 20 minutes ago i installed a new power supply to increase the cooling and I have one side cooler. But the working temperature is 65 C and if a make the processor to be used 100% then the temperature is going from 73 - 76 C. Is that normal or it's too much.

A: Ideally, you want your processor temps to be in the mid 50s for idle temp and at most around 68c when under full load. Most bios now include a fail safe setting to shut your board down at 75c. It sounds like you are not getting good air flow to your case or you have a fan that is not working. The first thing i would check is my fans. If you only have one case fan, I would look at getting another if your case has a spot for one. Typically you can have 2 to 3 case fans in a case. Only do the following if you are comfortable building pcs. Here is some instructions on how to use the products: http://www.arcticsilver.com/instructions.htm The next step is to actually replace the thermal paste that your processor came with. I would replace it with the following: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007 Be sure to get this to clean the bottome of your heatsink thoroughly before applying the new paste: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100010 I know this is all I use for thermal compounds now. It lowered my stock temps by 8c. A big improvement. People even recommend doing this to your graphics card cooler to increase its performance.
