Q: My Motherboard died and the hard drive that has ALL my music is still viable. Should I spend $60.00 and get a replacement motherboard and then download all my music, or can/should I slave in the old hard drive in a new computer and hope that Itunes will still recognize all my old files? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
A: ITunes will definatly recognize your old music assuming your drive is in working condition (which it probably is). Now as far as replacing the motherboard, thats up to you. Obviously a new computer is much more than $60, so you should probably ask your self this question... Does my computer do what i want it to? If so then the $60 is worth it to rebuild a computer but if you had only planned to buy the motherboard for data retreival, no just purchase another computer and instead of slaving i would recommend getting an external enclosure and putting your drive into that. It will make it portable and you can take your music anywhere!
