Q: Hi guys (: My computer has been running slower, and my internet too, few days ago it was fine but for some reason it is lagging like crazy today! I don't know the reason to it.. but people have suggested that my computer should be defragged? I have never defragged my computer and how to do it.. can someone please elaborate? What is it exactly and how often should i do it? so confused ==' it does not involve the risk of losing my files right? (music, videos, docs etc.) And whats the difference between downloading a defrag program and pressing the defrag button on the computer (or so they say..) Thanks! Sorry for so many questions! ><" Oh, forgot to add, how long does it take for someone who has never defragged their computer before? (Had this for around a year)
A: Well firt off check for viruses and spyware clean your computer from unwanted files and programes your not useing. Ok Defragging your computer what you do is click start , all programs , accessories , system tools , disk defragmenter once you opened disk defragmenter click defragment depending on how big your hard drive is and how many programs and files your you have on your computer it should take about 5-10 mintues to defrag your your computer. What you can do to is do a disk clean up click start , all programs , accessories , system tools , disk cleanup once you opend disk cleanup it should say files to delete click check all of them deleteing this will not delete anything on your computer except unwanted files that you delted along time ago unwanted internet files all junk trust me it wont delete anything of yours just unwanted internet files and old files you deleted before. Then you can go over to more options clean up system restore then click ok. Then you can create another restore point. You can look all this up on google to. Hope i helped.
