Q: between two system's having same spec's but one is quad core and other is core 2 extreme the same spec's are 4 gb ram 500gb hard disk nvidia 9800gt will there be an increase in fps while playing crysis in core 2 extreme
A: That depends. The Core 2 Extreme is by default faster (like 3.0Ghz instead of 2.66 or 2.4Ghz), but you'll pay over $1000 for the chip, whereas the slower are $200-500. Assuming stock speeds, maybe 1-2fps? Then again, are you looking at a quad core for the extreme, or a dual core for the extreme? Then it depends on whether with your applications quad is better than dual. For Crysis, not so much. The only difference it'll make (assuming both are quad cores) for you is if you will overclock the CPU. The Extreme edition is unlocked, so you can overclock it much more, hence why you would pay $700 or more extra for it.
