Many thanks, Will. The Chosen One, Thanks for you answer, On the tower case page it gives you the option to add the power supply :) Yeah, I'll take your advice on it :) Yeah, Thanks, I only just realized it said NO PSU, but you can buy the power supply's.. :P *PSU (Power Supply Unit) http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(12394)Win-Power-PSU-650WNAME-12cm-fan-24-pin.aspx
A: A ten note won't buy you a decent case. Anything that price will flex like paper, have poor ventilation, and cut your hands with its sharp edges. Seriously, not worth it. Hard disk's all right but see if you can't get the newer WD 6400AAKS. It uses just two platters for blazing transfer rates. It's currently the cheapest drive per gigabyte in the US, though the UK may be different, Yep. Q6600 for quad, E7200 or E8400 for duo. Gamers get duo, folks who use photoshop or edit video should buy a quad. Only 60$-equiv after UK markup? Didn't check, but that's sure an old G31 or something. Gigabytes are good, but buy a higher-end P35 for stable overclocking. They're still very close to the bottom of the markup, but much better in futureproofing and overclocking ability. Spend the extra fifty pence and get DDR-2 800. Can't overclock without it! Seriously, it costs nothing more, so even if you won't overclock, get it. Decent price on a lame duck card. Its okay for business graphics and light playing of stuff like Sims 2, but little more. Shoot for a minimum of an 8800gs/9600GSO or Radeon HD3850 if you like playing games. Onboard sound is fabulous these days. No, really, it is. Only audiophiles need something better. Not only that, but any US 15$ generic sound card is actually going to be a HUGE downgrade from what your new board comes with. Look to spending at least fifty quid if onboard's not good enough for you, I'm afraid :( Oh, and you need a power supply. Reputable manufacture only, please. Cheap ones will cause frequent crashes, and might even take out components. If a PSU comes with a case, then unless you have good reason to trust it, its automatically too shoddy to use. Yes, even for 60 quid cases! Antec, Seasonic, PC Power and Cooling, and Corsair all sell good supplies, as do many other companies. Lastly, if a part's OEM, it comes with no cables. That means those super cheap drives you see will need an SATA connector to use. Don't forget to throw one in your cart for they're expensive locally.
