Q: There is an option in the notification area (the area where clock is shown) which says "Safely Remove Hardware". This option is there only when we connect a removable media like pen drive etc. But in my PC the icon is always there even when no USB is connected in USB port. When i click on it, it says"Safely Remove SAMSUNG HD161HJ - (Drive C:, D:, E:)". Also this problem is only in XP, when I use Vista there is no icon like this. Please help. Thanks everyone who tries to solve my problem..
A: It sounds like it is recognizing your hard drive as a removable device for some reason. ( your hard drive is 160GB, right?) and D or E would be your cd/dvd drive. And when you try to remove it, it says "device cannot be stopped"? Are you dual booting? It may be an issue with the way the drivers were installed. Like afore-mentioned...not a big deal accept for the annoyance factor.
