Q: ..than the one that came with my pc? In other words.. I have a compaq presario 4323 us. The output max of the powersupply says 200-250max. I bought a antec power supply with 350 watts. So this maybe a stupid question but would I blow out my motherboard and etc cause im using to high of a watt than the original power supply that came with the pc?
A: Nope, your PC components will still draw the same amount of power with the new power supply. The power supply unit is not forcing the power into anything, otherwise electric sparks will be flying out of those unused power cables. The only issue you might experience is that with a higher output PSU, there will be higher internal losses relative to its size. In another words, expect your electric bill to go up for 20-40 watts :P. Remember, it's always better to be overpowered than under powered.
