Q: I have a custom built computer with an Intel DQ35JO MB. It takes ddr2 ram and is running vista. I have two 512 sticks of hynix ram and 1 1GB PNY ram. When I boot up the 1GB stick every thing is fine. But when I add the 512 12 nothing happens when I boot up the computer turns on and it starts working but nothing happens on the screen. When i take the 1GB out and boot with only the 512's it will say the system memory has decreased and will boot up go thorough vistas normal boot screen and after the wall of text flashes it reboots and does nothing like before. My mother can handle 8GBs of ram and the Bios dose recognize the 512 sticks any help
A: well if i read it correctly sounds like you zapped your 512 chips or atleast 1 of them. your motherboard probably is using dual channel and you might need to turn that off with the ram config your using though i would just drop a little cash and get 3 more sticks of 1GB ram
