A: Problem 1: volume icon To make you volume icon appear in the system tray- Open the control panel. go to sounds, speech, and audio devices. click sounds and audio devices. The first tab you will find an option: place volume icon in the taskbar. Check it. Problem 2: Click start, run, type sndvol32 and press enter. Check if any of the options are checked (the options like mute, mute all, etc). If they are, uncheck. Raise the volume on them as well. If it still does not work, the problem might be faulty wiring, faulty speakers, or faulty sound card. Peace
