Q: like ports, slots etc etc PCI slot, DIMM slot am i missing any slot that i havnt mentioned ? any ports, like PS2 port ? USB port? RJ-45 port? VGA port ? missing any ? please dont tell me processor, RAM, or hard drive, etcetc -i was born nov.12.1989
A: On the motherboard you have the following Power connector(s) CPU Socket(s) PCI slots AGP or PCI-Express slots (for video card) Memory Slots (DIMM, SIMM, DDR, DDR2, DDR3, etc) IDE and/or SATA connectors USB headers (for front or rear of the case) Firewire Header( for front or rear of case) Audio Header (for front of the case) (if on board audio present) Bluetooth transmitter (if on board) Infrared Header (sometimes present) Fan headers (for CPU and possibly multiple Case fans) Case light and power header (so the power light shows and and the power/reset switch works) On the back panel of the motherboard there may be: Network Port (RJ45) USB Ports Firewire Port(s) RS232/Serial ports (legacy) Parallel printer port (legacy) Audio connectors (if on board audio present) Video connector (if on board video present) There could be other exotic connectors on some motherboards but I think my list is fairly comprehensive.
