Q: I just got a new HP computer not too long ago and it has buttons on the right side for pausing and changing songs but it doesn't work. how do i make them work?
A: It seemed like you didn't have installed all the drivers that comes with you computer. Even if Device Manager shows you that everything is properly installed there might pe some generic drivers that the system have used during the installation process. Check out keyboard drivers on the disc that comes with it, or look for them on the recovery partition in case that you don't have this disc. You have to update the keyboard driver, after the system will recognize those two buttons.
