What mean 32MB Hard-disk buffer?

Q: I just bought a new pc with 500GB Hard-disk Seagate and I see it has 32 MB buffer and usual hard-disks have 16 MB.What mean that!Is aimprove in performance?

A: Yes, you may see increased performance for small data transfers. Basically, it's like RAM on the hard drive. Transfers to and from the buffer will be faster than to or from the platters themselves.
