Q: Question about the type of RAM my computer needs. It's a Compaq Presario SR2013WM. I've been browsing around, shopping for RAM. Now most online stores have the "select what your computer needs" junk, however I know what my computer takes already - 240-pin DDR2, 4200, so on an so forth. Now the question. I've found a stick of RAM on eBay, exact specs for my PC, HOWEVER, it says it's a "low density module." Will this have any dramatic effect on how it operates? Is this what my particular PC model is suited for? Never second-guessed myself on buying anything before, this is the first time I've ran into this and I don't wanna end up dishing out $40 for a 2gig stick of RAM my computer won't take. Thanks.
A: All major manufacturers (Dell, Gateway, HP, IBM) computers take low-density RAM. Some game machines take high-density (this is only a small percentage). To know what kind of RAM your computer can take, visit: http://www.crucial.com then either do a "scan my computer" (you must use IE as your browser since it uses ActiveX) or download and run their program that does the same thing. You don't have to buy memory from them, but they do sell it. Good luck LKB
