Q: Is SLI worth the extra money to upgrade to a second card and a higher power supply. I recently bought a new computer that is SLI capable with a 1000watt power supply with a 1GB GTX 280 card. Should I ever consider going into SLI and buying a higher PSU and another graphics card? Is the graphics change on a 20" noticeable enough? Any information about SLI and SLI worthwhileness is greatly appreciated since I am new to this kind of technology.
A: Personally, I wouldn't buy the GTX 280 unless I was going to use SLI. The 9800GX2 is a much better single card than the GTX 280. The only upside to the 280 is that you can run 3 way SLI as compared to 2 way SLI on the 9800GX2.
