Need help: power supply for Western Digital Elements 500GB Hard Drive

Q: Hi I believe the power supply to my hard drive has konked out. Everytime i plug it into the mains, the little green light on the converter comes on, but as soon as i plug the other end into the hard drive, the green light goes off and nothing else happens (ideally, the green light would stay on, and the blue light on my hard drive would turn on). So actually, i guess my first question would be, is it the fuse in the plug? If not, does anyone know where i can get a new power supply. The model number is AD6008 and its made by AcBel, a chinese company (can't find it on their website or google). Input says 100-240V~ 50-60Hz 0.85A and output 5V - 1.5A 12V - 1.5A. I don't get what went wrong, i was just tidying the cables that i have plugged into a four way gantry and next thing i know, it don't work (yes, i have tried it in another plug 8-|) So I'm stuck, and i would be grateful if anyone could lend some advice :) Thanks Guys P.S. The hard drive is still under guarantee and manufacturers warranty, but obviously i'm not just gonna waltz into PCWorld and hand it back to them with all my files on there. Is the powerpack covered under the warranty ? (I'm guessing not...)

A: Hi. I would bring the drive into PCworld and have them try another power supply. If this works then that's what you need, but I would never give a file laden drive to them either!
