Q: I had a problem with sound and restarted the computer, the problem was that no sound would come out and when I tried to select the Volume Control it said, "There are no active mixer devices available.." i mean, wtf is dat suppose to mean? it does it on my other computer but if i restart it it fixes the problem, can anyone tell me a sound program to fix this or how to fix it.
A: "No active Mixer Devices" message could mean that your sound card drivers are missing or corrupt. Run a disk scan first to make sure your hard drive is o.k. Next go to the computer or sound card manufacturer's web site and download the driver for the sound card. Before Installing the new sound card drivers, go to control panel:ADD/Remove Programs Sometimes the old sound card drivers can be uninstalled here. If you have trouble installing the new drivers, you may have a bad sound card ,(or motherboard,if its built in audio).
