Q: I was trying to find a program that can over clock a 7150M Geforce on my laptop. i wanted to change the dedicated memory from 128 MB to 256 MB. Would this harm my computer badly if done right? And would a laptop cooler help my laptops speed? I'm useing an Hp Pavilion dv6810us Entertainment Notebook Pc.
A: Yeah, no part of any laptop should ever be overclocked. In fact, sometimes they should be underclocked to save power, extend life, run cooler and quieter. Laptop coolers are not very effective, and they do not affect speed, just temperature. I suggest RivaTuner for overclocking, if you insist on it. You can change the amount of memory used in the BIOS, the setup you get to after hitting "del" or "f2" or some other key immediately after turning on the computer. Allocating more memory to the graphics card leaves less memory for your system.
