A: If the connector looks like a rounded trapezoid, then it's a VGA to whatever cable (by "whatever" I mean whichever type of connector is built into your TV). If it's rectangular, you want a DVI cable. For example, if you have an HDTV, you'll want either a VGA to HDMI or DVI or HDMI cable.
