Q: Linux Ubuntu does this wipe out my hard drive as well as my os cuz i want to download it just not sure
A: A destructive install would. If you are techie enough you could repartition your HD to allow space for Ubuntu without effecting Windows I recommend you use the WUBI installer for Ubuntu. http://wubi-installer.org/ It lets you install Ubuntu in Windows without effecting any partition or even Windows itself. Then if you really want to make the change from Windows to Linux you could do a full install.
