Q: I'm currently choosing my power supply but i cant get a hold on which one i need... i need enough power for a single 8800gt for now( maybe 2 in the future) which has a minimum requirement for a 400w +12 Volt current rating of 22 Amp Amps. sli however needs 450 and 24amp rating. although i heard some people can run dual 8800 on power supplies with a 12v rating of 18 amps. I can only purchase the power supply from tigerdirect.ca or any other canadian stores. and budget is around 100$(CAD) thanks for the help
A: I wouldnt recommend running it under 22 amps, Some graphics cards require 28 amps. Running it lower than that will only kill the power supply and take out other components.
