Q: I bought a 320gb hard drive in January, well it wasnt me that bought it, it was my brother and i specificly told him not to go to pc world because theyre robbing bastards and most of the stuff ends up breaking. But anyway, the hard drive that was bought stopped working, i took my 2 drives out the other day to clean the crap out of the case, i put the 2 drives back in and the computer wouldnt come on, so i disconneted the 320gb and the computer came on, and there was a smell of fried circuit board about, but anyway can i take the drive back even though i dont have the box, i tihnk i still have the recipt, but it was probably binned. So can i bring it back without a box or recipt. thanks This was the drive (but it was bought in one of their shops) http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0870471348.1217176970@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccdcadeekehdljjcflgceggdhhmdfhj.0&page=Product&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null&sku=302553&category_oid=-31455 Rich K: Yep thats pc world all over, all their concerned about is money and sales targets. Georgeah_*: Well coming to think of it he did pay by card, thats him all over he never pays by cash. Farrengottu: I tried the RMA on their website but it says "please contact your system builder or Bring it back to point of purchase"
A: I'm not entirely sure. If you don't have reciept or box then your stuck with the thing (bad brother!). Normally with PC World you get between 28days and 1years coverage. Prehaps take it in and explain? if your brother paid by card? it could still be on there records? I doubt it though :( sorry
