What can I use to power a 8-12cm CPU Case Fan?

Q: I want to be able to use a a CPU Case Fan outside of my computer. What options do I have to power up to two of those fans? I'm pretty sure you can use an ATX Power Supply unit, but I don't want to spend that much... What can I use besides this? ~Thanks EDIT: Alright thanks guys. Desslok, how would I wire that to hook up to the case fan? How do I wire them together exactly? Would I just cut the wires and match the correct ones on the AC adapter and on the fans wires?

A: just get one of those AC wall power adapters like this one Power Adapter AC to 12V DC @ 800ma http://www.apogeekits.com/ac_adapter_12vdc_eu.htm $11 the fan amp rating should be stamped on the label, most are like .2A so anything 250mA or higher should be ok (I would go a bit higher than the rating just to keep things safe. If you have a .8A fan or going to use two fans both .4A (just add teh amps up for total) use something like this: Power Adapter AC to 12V DC @ 1000ma http://www.apogeekits.com/12v_dc_power_adapter.htm $12.50 radio shack / wal mart or the like may have it cheaper. The +12v will run it at full speed if you want it slower / quieter try a lower voltage like 9v or even 5v. Oh and you will have to wire it up manually, just use some crimp connectors or screw wire caps or better yet you can get the appropriate end of the connector to match the wall power brick. cheers mate
