HARD DRIVE FAILED? or windows failed??????

Q: this is a weird problem i dela with computers every day and if i had to say i would say my hard drive has gone bad but ill tell you guys my story and see what you think anyway so i got this older hp a1530e 512ram 80gig sata hard drive single core from my friend who has long since gotten a new 1 i reformatted because his windows was corrupt and reinstalled windows ****legit windows****** with legit key******* every thing went fine after a week exactly a week i get the blue screen of death blah blah blah shit what ever restart i get a error some file is missing huh? maybe i deleted somthing on accident so i reformat and install after about a week same problem same old same old reinstall blah blah i reinstalled like 5 times b4 i gave up put a old shity 2gig hard drive in and what do you no no crashing seeming like hard drive failed i now have vista ultimate installed on bad hard drive gonna see if it works plz give me your thoughts dont feel like buying a new $60 hard drive tryed repair only fixes it for a week gonna try that boot cd n c whats wrong ill also try my ubuntu disc i didnt no it has a hardware test on it ill get back to u guys tomorrow about this but its 1:02am here n im going to bed o and btw i have a ome disc or what ever from dell tried that installed but after a week failed and i have a general disc i bought at sams club tryed both both failed ok ok i have just installed vista on my so called bad hard drive got this program from lifehacker called hdhealth or life or some shit like that it said my hard drives health is at 98% well now its got me thinking cuz i wouldn't expect windows to b bad never had any errors will installing yet it crashes with the blue sccreen after a week saying files r missing please repair or some shit idk what to do cuz with a diff hard drive its all good nothing fails with this hard drive it fails but programs are saying drive is in good condition

A: You need to test your hard drive, download the ultimate boot disk and boot up with it. It has hard drive test software on it, choose the one for your hard drive (maxtor, seagate etc. I've had this same problem, I keep reinstalling windows because it kept crashing. Well it turned out the hard drive was going bad.
