Q: Okay its time to upgrade my hardware and my computer is custom. I recently installed Windows Vista Home Basic on my PC with the following components: I have a Gigabyte GA-k8nsc-939, which I'm guessing needs to be replaced. I have only 512MB memory on it and I know I need more. The problem is that the mb uses only DDR400 memory and they are pretty expensive compared to the DDR2. I also have a AMD Athlon 64 bit processor 3200+ (overclocked to 3600) and 2.6Ghz. So my question is should I change my whole mb to something compatible with DDR2 and buy a 2GB memory ram to save myself money in the future and get better results? Also if I do do that, should I also change my processor? Please give me a trustful website where I can get the products at a great price. Thanks In Advance. 10 Points Awarded to Best Answer! Sorry its 3200+ and I believe I overclocked it to be 2.6Ghz....is that also good for a computer that I really don't use to play too many games....well not graphical ones. I just bought Vista, and I really don't feel like going to XP and going through that hassle again, thanks though, but I want to continues with this mission. No gaming for me...I got my PS3 for that....I just want a desktop that will be used for networking and for doing everyday school work and streaming youtube and all of that daily functions i know tigerdirect and newegg....i just need someone to directly answer the questions and not say which is what...just let me know if i should do what i said above.....it wasn't the fact of affording it, it was a quick thing that had to be done and now i'm pretty stuck thinking what should i do and the best way to do it

First off, you don't have enough ram to run vista, vista is a recourse hog! in order to upgrade in your case, you would need a new mobo, more ram, re-oc the chip, too much time and $ just load an OS that will work with out all the hassle, if you want to game, just dual boot and downgrade to XP, see my torrent download here http://www.youtube.com/MEGASPARKs then look for XP that's my opinion...
