Q: cant stand these usb speeds, if i took this external 350gig seagate freeagent apart would it be like a regular harddrive just in casing or is this a specially designed harddrive?
A: Yes I've done this with mine just make sure you have all the cables and power lead spare in your computer 1st.. If your using a ide mobo and it's sata hdd then I wouldn't bother as you then need out more to get a ide to sata plug for your mobo.
