Q: i have a dell inspiron E1405. i just rebooted with windows xp, and now apparantly i need drivers because i lost my sound and internet (on the main cpu for now). since i lost the drivers cd, is it possible to download drivers online? if so, where can i download them? also, i guess my main cpu which i'm on has drivers, so if you know where in my folders i could find them, can you tell me so i can simply put them on my flashdrive? that would be much easier than downloading them and them putting them on a cd. thanks!!!
A: Hi, Yes you can downlaod the drivers online and install them. Go to this website : http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=&SystemID=INS_PNT_E1405 Click on (+) sign on audio and download and install SIGMATEL driver. For network driver click on (+) sign in front of the network and install Intel (R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN driver for wireless and Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller for ethernet controller (wired internet). Put them on a flash drive and take them to your computer and install them. I am sure it will work. You can still call Dell and order a drivers CD, even if your system is not under warranty.
