Q: Well i went to a sleep-over yesterday and i brought my Xbox (classic xbox) over. it was fine for 5 hours of halo 2 and fifa07. i left my xbox on for 45 mins while we was having dinner. when i came back, the room was filled with smoke and it was coming from my xbox. i have a modded xbox and it only works on the modded mode (2 modes normal and modded). The red ring of death appears if i use the normal mode. Is my xbox dead? P.S. the xbox was on the carpet so that might have made it overheat
A: Doesnt sound good - and yes putting these things on carpet can obstruct air flow a bit. It's a bit strange it only works in the modded mode now, it might be that a wire got hot or similar because if it works in modded mode you would assume it works in unmodded mode. I would get it down to someone who's used to putting these mods in, it might be a simple adjustment to replace a wire or something. Trouble is I only use mine in modded mode, I've no idea if it works any more in the original mode .....
