Q: My friend offered me a Nvidia geforce 6100 integrated motherboard, and I wanted to know HOW good it is compared to my current unichrome pro igp integrated. Im not good with hardware and such so can you compare it to graphical games? Like right now, I know unichrome sometimes has problems with Starcraft, and thats a hella old game. Anyway, its a comparison. Please put it simply, and if its worth the exchange.
A: It's much better than the igp's of VIA or SiS, it supports pixel shader 3.0 and directx 9, so you can activate aero with this chip but don't expect great results from high-end gaming, maybe it can pull out starcraft (i have one and it works great for emulating ps1 and n64) but remember an integrated card is not meant for serious gaming. there are better chipsets now, like AMD960 and intel P45, but still is a decent solution.
