Q: I have not installed any new hardware on my computer, but the new hardware wizards pops up everytime I start my computer and insists it has found new hardware. I have run services.msc and turned off shell hardware detection, but today it popped up again. It doesn't specify what the hardware it has found even is, and if I ask it to install it, it fails. What is this??
A: note all the devices you have plugged into the usb ports, next go-to device manager and right click the device you think it is like the web-cam for example and scan for hardware changes, this will locate where the device is plugged in...you will not see the prompt again found new hardware as long as you don't plug it into a different usb port
