Usb ethernet adapter?

Q: What is a Usb ethernet adapter? How does it work? I recently bought a wireless router which needs to connect to my computer through an ethernet cord. Problem is my computer doesnt have an ethernet card or port whatever. I was wondering would a usb ethernet adapter allow me to connect my router to the computer like a normal ethernet port would? And how much are the usb ethernet adapters normally?

A: Yes you can go with 2 types usb to ethernet cable, or usb to wireless First a note, on USB devices you need to run the driver disc ""before"" you plug in the device, or Windows may not have the "inf" file to configure it and flag it in the device manager, then when you do put in the driver there is a conflict usb to ethernet cable http://images.google.com/images?q=Usb%20ethernet%20adapter&rls=com.microsoft:*&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&startIndex=&startPage=1&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi usb to wireless, just the usb part like in the first couple photos http://images.google.com/images?um=1&hl=en&safe=off&rls=com.microsoft%3A*&q=Usb+wireless+&btnG=Search+Images Are you sure it doesn't have a ethernet port? most even semi late models do, it looks just like a phone jack just a tad bit wider If you can work around in a computer an ethernet card is easy to put in, just determine that you have a pci slot open, plug it in and run the disc
