Q: I just recently got two gigs of ram 333mhz whats the different to two gigs of ram thats 533mhz is there a big difference?? thanks!
A: Yes. There is a difference. The 533 Mhz is faster than 333Mhz. Its called the clock speed. What clock speed RAM you should get depends on the FSB (front side bus) of your processor. Ex: Say you FSB is 600Mhz and you RAM is 300Mhz, then your processor is not working as fast as it could. By the way, FSB is the connection between your processor and RAM and data transger takes place along this line. So if the processor can take or give data at 600 clocks per second , but your RAM is weak and can give a maximum of 300/second, then obviously the processor is not running at its peak performance level. Hope this solves your question.
