Q: currently my windows xp home edition has 248 MB of RAM how or what can increase it to AT LEAST 256 MB!? EDIT i need at least 512MB RAM if anything/any program can do this or sumthin plz post HELP!!
A: There is nothing really you can download. You should go out and buy a stick or ram, they are usually good investments and will give you a good performance boost. You should at least get a stick of 1GB RAM. I recommend: http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=194802 (only 30 bucks), if it's a desktop. Before buying, be sure to find out whether that it is compatible with your laptop/desktop, or do what I did, if there's a store near you, just ask the people at the store, they'll be happy to tell you. You can check out video tutorials from youtube if you don't know how to install it, that's where I learned how to install most of the PC components I have.
