Q: I bought a 3-pin 90mm chassis fan for my computer. The brand is CeraDyna FAN. It is unusually loud and 2 times the rpm of my Processor fan. Is this just that brand or is there a way to control my fan RPM, on the board it has a 4-pin plug, and the fan has 3-pin, it has a groove in the back so it onli fits on those specific pins leaving one useless, do i need a 4-pin fan?
A: You can't change the speed of a fan that doesn't have a 4 pin header. The 4th pin is for the speed control.
