does anybody know how i can find the amount of files stored on my pc?

Q: i just want to know how many total files i would have stored on my pc?

A: You think you want to know, but you don't. Windows Vista puts many thousands of files on your disk before you even add one. What you should know and check periodically is how much space is used on your disk & how much space is available (free) for more files. On your desktop select the "My Computer" icon, then right-click and select Properties. Under Views select Details. In this window you will see at least one Hard Disk Drive named "(C:)", your C-drive. On this line are two important numbers: Name.........Type........Total Size...Free Space Name (C:)...Local Disc..288 GB.....249 GB GB stands for GigaBytes, a million bytes or characters. My disk has plenty of free space. How about yours? Click once on "(C:)" to select it, right-click, and select Properties. This shows a pie-chart of your disk. Close this window. Now double-click on "(C:)" to open it and view the folders on it. Find the folder "Users" and double-click on it. Now find your username and single-click on it. Right-click and select Properties. Now you will see something like ... Size on disk:...1.03 GB (1,113,427,968 bytes) Contains:........15,598 Files, 1,385 Folders This is the stuff you have put on your disk.
