Can i just leave it at my home, and if i was at college for example, i can access it from there? your question can be answered in 3 ways 1. you need a portable usb flash drive 2. you need a external hard drive ( more storage) 3. you need to setup a remote desktop connection to your pc. Pick which one you think will suit you and go from I think i want external hard drive, with extra storage, aswell how would i remote desktop connection to my pc how ? ? ? please help

A: The external hard drive and the flash drive work in roughly the same way (as a user, anyway). You plug them into a USB socket on your PC - the PC automatically recognises the device and makes it appear as a new hard drive (for example, an E: drive). You just copy files to it as normal, then detach the device take it to another computer and plug it in and you can access the files on that computer. Setting up a remote connection to your own PC is possible. It requires your PC to be left switched on all the time with a broadband connection, plus an application such as GoToMyPC, which provides a secure path through the internet and lets you remote control your PC and access your files. Or, you can store files that you want to access from anywhere in online storage (in the UK, for example, there's BT Digital Vault). You sign up (often with a subscription) and you can store a few GB of documents, which you can access from anywhere you have an internet connection. For ease though, I'd suggest a large capacity flash drive or a really small size hard drive (you can get them about the size of a packet of cigarettes these days - see link)
