The PC doesn't start?

Q: I don't know what happened to my pc. When I try to turn it on, doesn't start the windows. Actually even the monitor doesn't turn on nor the keyboard doesn't work. Doesn't boot from a cd. Even the BIOS doesn't check the hard disk. I'm sure there is a problem with the hardware. What could be the possible problem?

A: When you say the monitor doesn't turn on, do you see anything at all (like the initial BIOS screen, memory check, etc? If not it is almost definately a hardware failure either on the motherboard, graphics card, RAM or CPU. If the hard drive was damaged/not connected, you would still see the BIOS screen but then get a message about there being no OS. Does it bleep at all? This is a sign that RAM, CPU or some other motherboard component is faulty or incorrectly fitted.
