A: Correct, it will only be 512MBs of ram. Nvidia's solution for multi GPU is called SLI. To use SLI, BOTH of the chipsets must be the same. The memory amount can be different, as can the clock speeds, but they both much be 9800GTX's, or both must be 7100s. AMDs multi solution is called CF, and it does support LIMITED different chipsets. Even if you had AMD already, you wouldn't be able to put such a high end card into your computer and have it work. Speaking of which, why are you getting the 9800GTX? The 4850 is cheaper, and a more powerful video card. You should look into the 4850, its a better card.
