Q: When I get the low virtual thing people say 2 go 2 system properties, then advanced, after that performance settings, then go to advanced and change virtual memory and to double something but idk what it is. Can someone tell me specifically what to double?
A: 1.Select Start> Control Panel. 2.Select Performance and Maintenance> System. 3.On the Advanced tab, under Performance, select Settings. 4.On the Advanced tab, under Virtual Memory, select Change. 5.Under Drive, select the drive that contains the paging file that you want to change. 6.Under Paging file size for selected drive, select Custom size check box. You can enter the amount of memory you would like to have for Virtual memory by entering the initial and maximum size. 7. Select Set. When you are prompted to restart the computer, select Yes. !! 2 things to remember !! 1.You should choose equal amounts for the initial size and maximum size. This will prevent your machine from constantly changing the paging file. 2.Before you reset the virtual memory, set it to "0" and select OK and restart your PC. This will clear your cache and prevent a fragmented cache file.
