Q: I Want To Upgrad My Graphic Card To Play Call Of Duty 4 and lots of other new games what would be the best AGP Graphic Card for my pc. My PC Is An OLD Compaq Presario AMD Athlon XP 2000+ it has 1.67 GHz AMD CPU,1G ram 320G hard drive 430w PSU im trying to decide between Graphic Card 1:http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180260192306&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=008 AND Graphic Card 2:http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ATI-Radeon-HD2600-PRO-HD-2600-IceQ-Turbo-512MB-DDR2-AGP_W0QQitemZ290242265519QQihZ019QQcategoryZ40156QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Now i Know The ATI Radeon PRO 2600 IceQ Turbo 512MB is a bit slower but with that big fan and running as cold as it does i should be able to make up for lost speed with overclocking. Now about the ATI Radeon HD 2600XT 512Mb GDDR3 AGP it does run faster and may be better but i have red some bad reviews saying that the drivers don't work and many other issues trying to get it to work on old pc's so please help. Both of the Graphic Cards are actuly AGP I Asked the ebay seller and he made a mistake with the advertisement but what i realy would allround what Graphic Card Is Best For Gaming.
A: First ensure your motherboard supports both....one of those is an 8x AGP and the other is a PCI-Express card....I would recommend the PCI-E if it supports it and also upgrade to 2GB of Memory if the motherboard supports it also.........the extra memory will help! TC made a good point, ensure you have sufficient power for the upgrade..... Just my opinion, I prefer Nvidia.
