Q: Hi guys. I'm thinking about getting the computer game 'Crysis'. I know my computer can run it but I want to run it on better detail. Does anyone have any ideas what I should upgrade on my computer for this. I also don't want to spent over $250. My Computer Specs Are: Intel Celeron 2.0Ghz ASUS P5VD2-VM 1GB Ram 667Mhz DDR2 ASUS EN8600GT 256MB DDR3 80GB Seagate Hard drive (Might be getting a 320GB or a 500GB) I also did a benchmark. The result was: 800x600 Low detail 32.15 FPS 800x600 Medium detail 21.445 FPS 800x600 High Detail 10.64 FPS Motherboard can support dual core or single core My friend might be giving a 2.0Ghz Pentium 4. Would it be worth overclocking this instead of getting a new CPU for now
A: OK, Your mobo supports Core 2 Duo, which just saved a couple of bucks. Don't get the Pentium 4 because it's old and outdated, it won't be able to run Crysis too. So, now you'll need an extra 1Gb DDR2 667 memory. Since you're on a really tight budget for this upgrade, you should get the xfx 9600gt that's $140. Now the processor is a problem, again you're on a tight budget so the best thing you could get for yourself in order to run Crysis is the E2200 2.2 GHz, you could OC that to around 2.6-2.8 just to be safe.
