A: Athlon XP 3000+ if i remmeber correctly is about the top of the range for your Socket A motherboard so you cannot upgrade faster, likely try OC. Newer AMD processors are using diffferent Socket / RAM etc. New Mobo with Socket AM2+ is your likely bet.... with DDR2 RAM Well then you can get the X4 Phenomom for instance. or any other older AMD CPUs (X2 6000+) Depends on the game you play, and if they need Shader Model 3.0 or not. Which your X8500XT doesnt have. So you might not run some games just check the min spec. Also Vista really needs alot of RAM and luckly 2GB of RAM is fairly cheap right now.
