Is my computer still under Warrenty?

Q: OK I bought my Compaq Computer at Staples and I was wondering if the Warrenty is still on it. I have opened my computer numerous times and installed a new Wireless Adapter and a Floppy drive and lately my computer has been screwing up (refer back to my other questions) and I have a Limited Warrnety I think but when I opened my computer it didn't have any papers or anything nor a back up disc. I do know that it has a year warrenty and I just got ti for Christmas. So would the Computer still be under warrenty?

A: Opened it as in pulled the case off? *shakes head* The default warranty that everyone uses is that if you open the computer then you void the warranty. Installing other hardware would modify the computer so most companies include a clause in the warranty saying that it's no longer their problem because it's not the same computer they sold you. You can ask the store but odds are that they'll want nothing to do with it. And most companies don't include the Windows discs with their computers. Completely illegal but common practice.
