Q: Hey Yahoo, I just wanted to know if I plugged my computer/monitor up to one of these: http://satelliteav.com/mmatv/Images/AC%20SURGE%20STRIP.JPG would it protect me from a power surge? because the computer still goes off if there's a power outage so how does it protect it? thanks
A: yes to a point and its for a SURGE not an outage. for power loss you need an Uninterrupted Power Supply. basically its a big battery that your computer plugs into. that strip will not protect you against a lightening strike either. the best thing to do in that instance is to shut down and unplug the entire strip...
